Bid to host the 2008 IWSF World Cable Ski Championships
Great Britain, September 2007
With no bids on the table yet to host the next World Championships, this presented the opportunity and inspiration for British National Champion Stuart Marston to explore the possibilities of holding the event in the UK.
Involved in Cable skiing since 1990 and competed in many World, European and National Championships, Stuart also sits on several IWSF and BWSF waterskiing committees, he has also had plenty of experience in organising events including the world renowned London Night Jump.
After approaching UK's largest Cable facility, Princes Club with the prospect of them hosting the event, Stuart asked Debbie Fowler, also a passionate Cable skier and organiser of the British Cable Tour to join him as co-organiser.
Once the bid proposal was submitted to the IWSF, they sought a group of likeminded individuals that would hopefully form into the British Cable Worlds Committee.
